Japan Lighthouse Stamp, 27 Sept 2019

On 27 September 2019 Japan issued a souvenir sheet containing ten stamps. It is the latest in the “Japanese Night View” series. The second stamp in the top row depicts Tamamo Breakwater Lighthouse located on the end of the breakwater of Takamatsu harbor. This is a really interesting lighthouse in that the tower is clad in lighted glass panels that illuminate and eclipse along with the main light atop the tower. I have never seen a light like this one.
