Aland Lighthouse Stamps, 1 March 2024

Aland has been rather busy producing lighthouse stamps in early 2024. On the same day, 1 March 2024 it issued a mini sheet of two stamps in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the its first postage stamps. This sheet shows Lågskär Lighthouse in the margin. It also issued a stamp celebrating the 150th anniversary of Maritime Education in Aland. This stamp does not depict a lighthouse, however, there is a gutter pair included in the sheet which does show a stylized lighthouse.

Aland Lighthouse Stamp, 8 May 2024

On 8 May 2024, Aland issued a SEPAC stamp to celebrate tourism in the islands. At first, we weren’t sure if there was a lighthouse shown so Michael Ellison contacted the artist, Annette Gustafson, who stated: “The landscape is a mix of fantasy and reality. Yes there is a small lighthouse / navigation mark in the lower middle. It is not very detailed, more a hint of a building.”
