2017 Alderney Lighthouse Stamps

Today, 1 Feb 2017, Guernsey Post issued a set of 6 stamps honoring the 1st edition map of Alderney and Burhou created by the architect Addison Warren. Two of the stamps and the interesting mini sheet show a stylized version of Alderney Lighthouse. The lighthouse location, at the upper right, is marked by a red arrow on the first image shown below. Each of the stamps is available as a single or in sheets of 10.

On 17 Feb 2016, Royal Mail issued a 6-stamp Post and Go sheetlet entitled “Royal Mail Heritage – Transport”. The third stamp on the sheetlet features a Falmouth packet ship of the 1820s. Just below the bowsprit of the ship we can make out Lizard Lighthouse which is located on the coast of Cornwall at the western entrance to the English Channel.
