2 Feb 2015 Aland

Today, Aland Post launches the first of a six-year issue of stamps commemorating 19th century sailing ships. One of these stamps appears to depict Sälskär lighthouse. The stamp pictures the barquentine Leo which was built in 1870 and carried steel and wood products between Scandinavia and Great Britain and France for nearly 30 years. Sälskär lighthouse is also featured on a stamp issued by Aland in 1992 as shown here.
