On 27 Feb 2020, Correo Uruguayo issued a single-stamp souvenir sheet commemorating the 180th anniversary of the first photograph in Uruguay. The stamp shows the Montevideo Cathedral Metropolitana. In 1862 a lighthouse was established in the shorter south tower of the cathedral and operated until 1910 when it was de-activated due to the difficulty of detecting it from sea in the background lights of the city. Thanks to Jaap for again finding a lighthouse stamp for us.
