2007 Azores (Portugal)

These stamps were issued by the Azores on 27 Sep 2007 commemorating the 50th anniversary of the eruption of the Capelinhos volcano. Capelinhos lighthouse is shown at the lower right corner of the stamp. The lighthouse is reportedly the only structure that survived the year-long eruption that began in 1957.
