Below is a stamp released by Canada on 1 July 1942 that has not previously been in our checklist. This stamp was one of a set of 4 definitives that was in use until 1948. The title is “Corvette Ready for Launching” and it shows a lighthouse in the background. As of now the light will be listed as “unidentified” unless someone can leave a comment below to help out.

On 18 June 2015 Canada Post issued a set of 5 stamps depicting “Weather Wonders”. One of these stamps features Cape Spear Lighthouse in a light fog. Cape Spear, located in Newfoundland, is the easternmost point in North America. The original lighthouse was built here in 1836. A new tower was built in 1955 using the light from the original lighthouse.
